Ausdance VIC RTO Turns 25
Today we celebrate a major milestone — Ausdance VIC RTO is officially 25 years old! While Leonardo DiCaprio might have a few opinions about what that means (meme lovers, you know the one), we couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve accomplished over the past two and a half decades.
As Victoria’s pioneering dance-focused Registered Training Organisation, we were the first to offer nationally accredited training units specifically designed for dance and performing arts. Since then, we’ve helped thousands of students step into rewarding careers in the creative industries — from studio teaching to professional performance and beyond.
Through our auspice partnerships with schools and studios, we’ve made it easier than ever to access quality VET Dance and Performing Arts training. These partnerships improve student learning outcomes and create real revenue opportunities for providers. And we love that.
Back in 1999, we were one of a kind. Today, we’re thrilled to see a growing field of training and partnership opportunities across the sector. That growth tells a powerful story: demand for accessible, industry-relevant dance education is stronger than ever, and we’re here for it.
The Creative Workforce Scoping Study released earlier this year has strengthened our resolve. It highlights the urgent need to bridge gaps between formal education and industry, strengthen industry-led mentoring, and build skills for a thriving arts workforce. Our delivery of the Certificate II in Creative Industries CUA20220 is one way we’re answering that call.
So here’s to 25 years of empowering educators, enriching schools and studios, and celebrating dance as a vital part of our cultural fabric.
