Build your understanding of the benefits of dance, the general health issues and conditions affecting people as they age and how to apply these learnings in dance settings in Introduction to Creative Ageing.
This self-paced, online professional learning course provides you with the basic knowledge needed to lead movement activities for mature, senior, and elderly people. It is designed for dance teachers, professional dancers, allied health professionals, fitness trainers and healthcare workers.

Learning outcomes
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Reflect and present ideas around the role of creativity and performance work.
- Interpret and discuss the motivating factors for participating in a dance program.
- Recognise enablers and barriers to the dance participation of seniors and the elderly.
- Identify and describe environments in which dance takes place.
