Ausdance VIC has been lobbying the Victorian government since the original circuit breaker Business support announcements were made earlier this year in February. We have been advocating to have the eligible ANZSIC codes expanded to cover the entire dance and performing arts industries when developing their crucial business support packages that are much needed during forced shutdowns. Easy access to this support is critical for our hard hit sector, which grinds to a complete halt, bearing the worst of implications associated with a lockdown or gathering restrictions.
It’s fantastic to see this hard work paying off with all sector related ANZSIC codes now eligible for the support packages announced on 30 May by Acting Premier James Merlino
This is a great step in the right direction for our vastly diverse sector which deserves dedicated acknowledgement.
We have contacted the government thanking them for listening to the needs of our sector and implementing these additional codes.
