Shamita is a dancer, movement director and actor who’s been pirouetting through life since the age of 4. A trained dancer from an early age, her foundations began with over 16 years of RAD ballet training, jazz and tap, and gradually picked up numerous other dance styles.
While completing her BA Performing Arts at Monash University , she developed an interest in physical storytelling outside of traditional forms of dance- leading her to physical theatre, clowning and drag. From intimate shoebox venues to grand stages, Shamita has sashayed across Australia and beyond, leaving eco-glitter in her wake.
Known for high-energy, high-camp antics and infectious silliness, she brings humour, heart, and glam to every stage. She teaches at studios and schools across VIC including Maison Burlesque and Eve, and dances with Melbourne’s premiere Bollywood troupe, Sapphire Dance Co.
