Modest Easing of Restrictions

Thanks to the incredible efforts of our community, Victoria will hit the 70 per cent first dose vaccination target tomorrow – becoming the second state in Australia to do so.

We hope you are able to access and enjoy the modest personal freedoms- including 4 hours of exercise for Metro Melbourne and Ballarat and outdoor social interaction for the whole state.

For the Dance and Performing Arts Sector this easing allows;

Metro Melbourne and City of Ballarat – 5 people to attend a venue to broadcast a performance, class or concert.

Regional Victoria – opening of dance studios for class and rehearsal, max 10 people per venue

We are working with representatives from the Victorian State Government to clarify if the 10 people per venue includes a teacher/instructor and the definition of a space.

For more detail see the table of restrictions: https://www.premier.vic.gov.au/new-freedoms-when-70-cent-first-dose-target-reached

For those returning to in-person dance remember that masks must be worn at all times, except when engaging in strenuous, physically exertive, exercise. If masks can be worn, they must be worn.  https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/face-masks-when-wear-face-mask

Following the National Strategy to re-open based on vaccination figures, we strongly encourage all eligible members of the Dance and Performing Arts community to make an appointment for a COVID-19 vaccination. More appointments are being added all the time. Through higher vaccination numbers we will see the safe return of in-person dance to our communities Find out more and book: https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/book-your-vaccine-appointment
